Week 6-10

Sorry that i have delayed my past few blogs but this is to make up. The last few weeks I have made my heat mat and have been working on my new assignment.It is a kitchen rack. We haven't started yet but we still have to design and make a folio of it. So thats the last one this term, so goodbye for the holidays.

Week 5

This week i got my box marked and took it home. Then i did working on the wood lathe test. I also started a heat mat for cooking pots.

Tools used: computer, steel rule, tri square, pencil, tenon saw.

Week 4

This week we sanded the paint off the blocks and burned the noughts and crosses. We then put a Scandinavian Teak Oil on the peices to act as a lacker which is fast acting and doesn't smell or stick to things.


Tools used: Scandinavian Teak Oil, Disk sander, sanding paper, crosses burner, noughts burner.

Week 3

This week we made the bottom.
 Then we stuck the bottom on.
 We then cut out 9 blocks out of a pink pole.
Tools used: steel rule, tri square, pencil, tenon saw, disk sander, sanding paper.

Week 2

This week we cut out the middle slots.
We then put them together.
This is how they fit together.
Tools used: steel rule, tri square, pencil, tenon saw, marking gauge, chisel and mallet.

Week 1

We started with drawing it up in sketch-up.
 Then we cut the individual pieces to size.
We ended up with this at the end of the week.
